Reader. Dreamer. Writer.
It is February and the The Bookling’s Crate of the month is here! The Bookling’s Crate is a monthly book subscription service that delivers a Young Adult fantasy read along with bookish merchandise. They launched the service in January, 2017 and I loved their last box. Check the January unboxing if you missed the first post. The Bookling’s Crate is based in India and has free shipping all over India. Also, you can get a 10% discount using the promo code SATCHEL10 .
About The Bookish Box
The Feb box is themed #ReadyforAnything. Here are the products included in the box:
1. Two Yoga Bars (Chocolate Chunk nut and Coffee Zing)
2. Two packets of premium blended coffee powder from Beanstalk and Leaves (Velvet Dew and Smooth Operator)
3. In Omnia Paratus Tote Bag
4. Harry Potter wand pencil
5. Two quoted bookmarks
6. Metal Bookmark
7. A surprise book
The Book
The surprise book turned out to be a paperback copy of Freeks by Amanda Hocking (Pan Macmillan) which has circus and super natural abilities in the plot. I like how The Bookling’s Crate keeps the readers guessing which book they would pick for their theme. I had guessed wrong – I thought the book included would be Caraval because of the circus tent prints. Freeks looks even better.
Goodreads synopsis:
Welcome to Gideon Davorin’s Traveling Sideshow, where necromancy, magical visions, and pyrokinesis are more than just part of the act…
Mara has always longed for a normal life in a normal town where no one has the ability to levitate or predict the future. Instead, she roams from place to place, cleaning the tiger cage while her friends perform supernatural feats every night.
When the struggling sideshow is miraculously offered the money they need if they set up camp in Caudry, Louisiana, Mara meets local-boy Gabe…and a normal life has never been more appealing.
But before long, performers begin disappearing and bodes are found mauled by an invisible beast. Mara realizes that there’s a sinister presence lurking in the town with its sights set on getting rid of the sideshow freeks. In order to unravel the truth before the attacker kills everyone Mara holds dear, she has seven days to take control of a power she didn’t know she was capable of—one that could change her future forever.
Review of the box
During my Januaray unboxing I mentioned I have high expectations because of the high standard s established by bookish boxes based elsewhere. Well, this month I had high expectations because of how amazing the January box was. Needless to say, the February box keeps the promise of being another quality box.
The packaging was excellent and all items were bubble wrapped. The Bookling’s Crate has put together another package of very useful items. There is a card inside that breaks down the cost of individual items if you want to cross check. I loved the tote and the Harry Potter pencil (We always love everything HP themed, right?), though I don’t think I will sharpen it. I love it too much as a wand.
A special note about the food goodies in the box. In both the January and February boxes, there were foodie surprises. The Yoga bars are healthy alternatives for snacks. This time there were coffee packets inside the box which was a pleasant surprise because usually boxes limit themselves to tea. My inner coffee lover was happy of course.

Disclaimer : Much thanks to The Bookling’s Crate for a subscription box to review. All opinions are my own.
I want that Harry Potter pencil so badly – it’s fab! You’re right – I wouldn’t sharpen it either… 🙂
Oh yes! Never going to sharpen that one.
I adore the coffee packaging. Actually, I adore this entire package. I hope the book is good.
Another cool box! I have read Freeks and I quite liked it. It was very different to my usual YA read. I also like the sound of all the items – especially the Yoga bars! As a yogi myself, I definitely approve ahaha 😉
My recent review: http://olivia-savannah.blogspot.nl/2017/01/trapped-in-silver-book-review.html
That is great. I will check your review to get an idea about the book. The cover is gorgeous!
I really like the contents of this box. It seems to contain a bit more. I love that there was coffee and that book looks intriguing!
Me too. It is exciting to unbox it
Beautiful box and beautiful pictures! The coffee lover in me is glad to see that included!
Me too Laila. Don’t often see alot of coffee in such boxes. So I was happy.
I still haven’t tried any bookish subscription boxes yet but I’m seriously thinking about subscribing to one called the Book Boyfriend Box since I’m such a fangirl and all. 😉 However, this one also looks amazing. It kind of reminds me of Muse Monthly’s with the treats. (I did buy a few boxes for my friends form that company before and they loved it.)

I hope you will find an amazing one to subscribe to. Always nice to open the boxes and find so many goodies.
This is a great theme! I love how they tricked you into thinking the book was Caraval. I am interested to see your review of Freeks and learn how you think the book plays into the theme. I don’t know a ton about the book (sans blurb), but I hope it’s great. Another wonderful box.
Thank you. I hope Freeks will be a good read too.
